Fences are Up

Thanks very much to all the gardeners who showed up today for our garden work day. We were able to get our fence posts in and our fencing up in about an hour. We can now proceed to planting without fearing incursions by our many local deer.

2015 Garden Kick-Off

It’s that time again. We will gather at the garden on Saturday, May 2 at 10 am, install the deer fencing, clean up the grounds a bit (in keeping with Green Up Day) and share snacks.

Please bring your work gloves and your ideas for the new season. If you haven’t had a chance to pay your garden fee, please bring your check made out to Kathy Tefft (Hanover Community Gardens). The full plot fee is $40 and the half is $20.

Fence Take Down 2014

A record group of gardeners turned up to take down the fence, and we completed it in a record amount of time of 45 minutes. Thanks to Kathy, Sue and William for overseeing the garden through another successful season.

Last Plastic Pot Collection

Last one of the season!

Longacre’s Nursery

Longacre’s Nursery is located at 220 Mechanic Street, Lebanon, NH. There is still time to clear the decks of all those surplus pots and trays. All types of plastic plant pots accepted, including the flimsy multipacks. Volunteers and friends of Sustainable Hanover/Longacre’s will be on hand to accept this useful plastic.

Help us keep this resource out of the waste stream.
