Thanks to all who helped take down the garden fences and get the gardens ready for winter. It was a cold morning, but we had lots of help.
Thanks to all who helped take down the garden fences and get the gardens ready for winter. It was a cold morning, but we had lots of help.
Please mark your calendars for the annual Fall work morning set for 9:30 am on Saturday, October 24th. We will take down the fences, roll up the hoses and put the gardens to bed. Rain date is the same time on Sunday, 10/25. Please bring your work gloves and your 2016 garden payment ($40/full plot, $20/half.) Also, remember that as you prepare your garden for the winter season, please put the organic waste and debris in the upper garden compost pile.
Perhaps this should be our next gardening project:

Sustainable Hanover, community volunteers and Longacre staff will be ready to accept your various used plastic plant pots, trays, flimsy multi-packs and plant labels on Saturday, September 19th.
No need to wash the pots, just tap free of dirt, remove staples and they will be ready for us to stack.
Help us keep this plastic out of the landfills and create space in your storage spots at the same time.
